Howdy folks! Believe it or not, the image up above there is an ORIGINAL drawing by me. (Not a lost Dubuffet piece, as you might have suspected!) I'm new to the PALNET experience---and I must confess, I don't quite understand (100%) what's going on---but it's VERY exciting! Is this an alternative or a mirror to Steemit.com? Something that will eventually branch off into its own THING? (Is it already its own thing, and I just don't have the proper eyes to SEE it?)
I'm not trying to be negative, at all, I'm just more of an analog/physical type of guy (I'm OLD), so I don't understand the ins-n-outs of this crypto-digital world yet. I follow directions fairly well, so I did the whole "airdrop" thing and "staked" my "tokens." (And I'm putting all of this stuff in quotes because, although I know folks use these terms differently now, this is old language that meant different things for me and my generation. An "airdrop" was the thing my dad used to do with an airplane and a parachute at the Toledo skydive school, and "staked" used to be what happened to vampires who pissed off too many people, and "tokens" were those little coins I shoved into the Asteroids and Space Invaders machines at the Chuck-E-Cheese when I was a kid... I admit, I was a bit disappointed to find out that getting modern tokens didn't mean I'd have a pocket full of coins when I was done collecting them! It takes some time to forget old meanings and adopt new ones.)
But like I said, I'm excited, even if I don't quite understand what's happening. At times, I feel like a tourist in a city where I don't quite speak the language, but I'm enjoying the sights (sites) and taking photos of the more mysterious items to show to my non-crypto-traveling friends! (Maybe I'll eventually convince a few of them to come along with me one of these days...)
And I like the name, "Steem-Engine," too. It sounds very Steam-Punky to me, and I was amazed to discover that I had some other tokens waiting for me when I finally figured out how to sign in there!
So----I'm along for the ride! Let's see where this train goes!
