Even among the over-65 group, less than 25% of Americans are up to date on COVID boosters. That's tragic.
Everyone knows being vaxxed gives you a huge reduction in odds of COVID death, roughly 12x better. But staying current has about a 3x reduction in death vs. not getting the latest booster.
Similar reductions in hospitalization for boosted vs. not boosted. It's a good idea for everyone, but a slam-dunk no-brainer if you're over 50.
My partner and I got our bivalent boosters and flu shots yesterday. I had no arm pain and just a few back pains when I woke this morning, but one ibuprofen and they were gone. My partner had a sore arm from the COVID booster, and they're zonked out today, sleeping almost non-stop for the last 14 hours. Both experiences are fairly typical.
