This game is very unique when it first came out. With people getting use to what Squaresoft games are usually about, this game broke the mold some what.
With the battle system being active and you can move around the space to avoid incoming projectiles and damage. I was unprepared for that when i first played it.
They delivered the horror aspects quite well, it really gave me that creepy feeling with it background music and setting.
The story gets real very fast with people catching on fire for no reason in an opera theater. Then this mysterious singer woman on stage and yourself are the only ones left alive. In just the first 10 minutes.
There is an inventory system where you can pickup items and ammo, but even keys take up space. So you have to manage it. Further into the game you get to use your Parasite powers. You gain level as well just like a normal RPG.
Anyway it is an awesome game, think of it as a "Active Time Battle 3rd Person Shooter in a confine space?" Hm... maybe i'll describe it like this, just imagine Final Fantasy but with creepy and horror elements and running around while battling.
