Apple does appear to ignore the laptop and desktop markets - and still somehow their market share steadily increases, both according to Net Marketshare and Statcounter. My guess is iPhone owners are so happy with the devices that they decide to buy computers of the same brand. They may no longer be great productivity devices (or as he briefly mentions; gaming devices), but they're probably still great consumer devices.
I wouldn't really know though. I'm planning to stick with Linux and Sailfish for the foreseeable future.
