Hello friends,am happy to be in this class to learn and enjoy the impact of pastry,
Here l want start by the introduction:-Jam making is an act of storing or preserving different types of fruits and some vegetables in a high sugar kind of syrup.
The high sugar content aboard in jam-making so to removes or reduces the level of microbial growth, and it is also for the sweeten of the product.
The high sugar content help to make the product slippery. with the fruit and sugar content it yield, a mixture that has a shelf life of over 5-12 months.
Jam-making is also an interesting process that leads and in reducing post-harvest losses that link with fresh fruits. So that is the reason why all type of kinds of fruits and some vegetables could be made into jams.

No 1.TASK

Yes ,I have and during that practical class of my jam making that was my first time on the aspect of pastry ,by the time of cooking I don't know that I suppose to remove foam as it is boiling out ,so after that experience I was tutor very well,and my finished product use to be clear.

JAM RECIPES

Ingredients
1 kg of pineapple 🍍 :-l choose ripe and fresh pineapple
500gs of sugar:-my sugar was granulated white sugar that is it's sweetener and preserve.
1 cup of water :-it will help to grind my fruit very well with the aid of a grinding machine.
1 table spoon of lemon juice:-it is for the acidity level .
1 table spoon of vanilla flavor:-it is to flavored the jam.

UTENSILS

A heavy bottomed pot:-this is to prevent pouring while cooking
Clean glass jar:-it is for storage
Wooden spoon:-it is for stirring so that the pot will not obtain scratch.
Spoon:-(slotted):-it is use to skim scum from the surface during cooking.
Gas cooker:-it is for cooking of the jam
Sieve:-it is use to sieve the fruit after grinding

STEP BY STEP

I washed my pineapple before peeling and cut them small small sizes

I weighed it after cutting to be sure of accurate

I brought out my grinding machine and grind
My pineapple,then I sieve it.

After grinding,I poured it inside the pot and carried to the gas cooker and cook,

During the cooking process,I was stirring constantly to prevent burning,

I added my sugar and lemon juice and continued stirring until the sugar dissolved,

Then ,I continued to cook until the jam thickened.

I brought it down and transfer to the jar

Then finally I refrigerate until the time it was ready to serve

NO 3 TASKS

I did not encounter any difficulties when making my jam, the reason is because, I followed my teachers instructions and methods.

SPECIAL TIPS

I ensure that all the equipment /utensils are very clean and neat.

Do not make large a quantity at a time because large quantities of fruits and sugar will take a long time to set.

Make sure to use granulated white sugar, because granulated will help set low-pectin fruits without the addition of lemon juice,then make sure that the sugar is completely dissolved

Ensure that the fruit to be used is fresh because the freshness of the fruit affects the finished product setting

Make sure you don't use damaged fruit because any fruit that has too damage will definitely spoil the results and lend to deteriorate fast

NO 5 TASKS

The food i will use to accompany my jam is a sweet bread
