One section when it comes to food production that interest me so much is baking. In my whole life I always want to explore the baking world to know how to bake different things even though I do not really like to eat them because of my weight but I like giving my family varieties of test of food. And so I always wish to learn how to bake and thanks to steemit who has introduced a learning team that is yet to teach us how to bake.

Thank you Pastry chef Team @dasudi and @lirvic for your generous heart in sharing your skills with us here, it is beneficial.

So after reading the course outline for this week lecture on classic vanilla and chocolate cakes I decided to take part in the homework task and using the questions provided I gave my answers below.

Have you ever made any of these classic pastries at home? Tell us about your experience.

Actually it is my first time of baking cake, I have a knowledge of how to make cake because my sister is into it I usually assist her While she is baking and that is where I got the knowledge of it.

But personally I have not tried the baking process from the beginning to the end alone Today is just my first time of doing that and to grade myself I will say I do it well hoping to do better in my next trial.

Make one of the two cakes presented (detail ingredients and step by step) and indicate whether you followed the recipe we provided or prepared your traditional cake recipe.

  1. Grease my mold, then pour the batter to it making sur it is not full to the brim

  2. Heat my pot with sand in it so it will be hot for the baking process to begin.

  3. I Placed the mold directly in the centre of pot so as the heat evenly.

It actually my first experience and I will be perfect after doing subsequently. Aside from the look, the taste was very okay and it was fluffy.

What was the most difficult thing for you when preparing the cake?

The mixing session was really difficult as I didn't have a mixer so I use a spatula and turning it evenly to achieve the texture was really challenging. I was very careful so as my work will not break and to have a very smooth cream.

Then another part I find it challenging was while baking, it was difficult to know the exact time my cake will be done because I used a local oven as my oven was faulty. Although I use a toothpick to check on it, I didn't still get it uni my first trial got burnt.

After the experience I didn't give up, I tried again and I checked my cake at 30 minutes and I tried it again after 45 minutes and my cake was done in 50 minutes
prompt I was really happy it turn out fine this time.

Although it requires additional expenses to purchase the ingredients for the practical, I bear the loss just to learn.

Do you have any special tips for making perfect cakes? Share them.

Although it is my first time off making cake I will still suggest some special tips from my observation.

I noticed that the second time I made the cake I really paid attention to read then my measurements of ingredients was actually accurate and guess what the taste came out perfectly well it was fluffy and tasteful.

Tips

  • Therefore to make a perfect cake one needs to be accurate in the ingredients so as to get a perfect taste of the cake.

  • Grease your pan well if possible used baking paper on your pan so that your cake will come out perfectly well without being burnt or have a dent.

  • Your cream should be properly mixed to avoid separation or coagulation.
  • Baking powder and sugar should be properly measured to avoid making the cake taste bitter.

  • All liquid ingredients should be mixed differently and all powdered ingredients should also be mixed to achieve a smooth mixture and also the different ingredients being evenly distributed to achieve a good taste.

I will invite @mile16 @lunasilber and @nanidi to take part in this contest.
