It has been some time since Path of Exile was announced for Xbox One. One of the most successful titles today on PC, it makes the leap to Microsoft's console and does it for everything, including the Fall of Oriath expansion that grants more content than ever.
Our adventure begins in Wraeclast, a post-apocalyptic world devastated by monsters and beings of darkness. The mission is simple, embody one of the 7 exiles to give a solution once and for all to the dark world that looms over this earth. So, it's time to roll up your sleeves and choose between any of the 7 classes available in the game, and embark on our new adventure.
The premise of this Path of Exile boost is identical to what we have already seen in other ARPGs such as Diablo, in fact, it is the Blizzard game that has served Grinding Gear Games as a source of inspiration. They have managed to capture the essence necessary to provide it with a highly addictive playable component while delivering a proposal with its own personality.
To all this is added a tremendously relevant factor, Path of Exile is free. And yes, I have wanted to use the term free because it does not fit with the current free-to-play model. The game is offered completely, without interruptions and there is only one alternative store for skins. The good thing about this is that if you don't look for it explicitly, you don't even find out that the game offers micropayments.
Technical Section
Luckily for Xbox One players, Grinding Gear Games has had plenty of time to polish the various technical glitches that Path of Exile suffered from in its early days. The console version of the game arrives perfectly optimized, in part thanks to the support of Microsoft and the facilities provided by the Xbox development kits to bring Windows games to the console. You have to understand that the team behind this title has awarded, above all, the user experience.
And we are talking about a game that has been behind it for more than a year on PC, so it will inherit much of the material that already existed. We are talking about a modest studio and they do not have a large budget for the game to have publicity or can be technically ostentatious. Despite this, both the art and the behavior on the console are exemplary.
It has some forgettable, low-quality textures that are easily identifiable at certain points in the game. However, in the rest of the sections, the game complies. Of all the time that I have played, I would say that it does not stand out in anything.
