যখন The এর পরের শব্দের প্রথম বর্ণ consonant হয় তখন দা উচ্চারণ হয়।

আবার, যখন The এর পরের শব্দের প্রথম বর্ণ Vowel হয় তখন দি উচ্চারণ হয়।
