Now the Russians can only withdraw funds.

Earlier this week, the PayPal payment service stopped registering new users from Russia, but now the service has completely suspended work in the country. This is reported by Reuters, citing PayPal CEO Dan Shulman.

A spokesman for the company said that PayPal will support withdrawals "for a specified period of time, ensuring that account balances are distributed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations." At the time of publication of the material, the official website of PayPal is not accessible from Russian IP addresses, but it opens when using a VPN.

The work in Russia of the money transfer operator Xoom, owned by PayPal, has also been terminated in Russia (Unistream worked with it in Russia).
