AMD will also make available the X570 chipset to be combined with new motherboards in conjunction with the new 3000 series Ryzen processors, built with 7-nanometer production technology and based on Zen 2 architecture. This is a proposal that takes the place of the currently on the market X470 model, designed to make the most of the Ryzen 3000 CPU's new features.

This new chipset's technical characteristics and operating diagrams have emerged online, featuring for the first time official support for the PCI Express 4.0 standard implemented in a consumer product. The Valhalla platform, which combines Ryzen 3000 processor with X570 chipset, provides a total of 24 PCI Express 4.0 lines, 16 of which are allocated to the video card with the ability to manage a 16x signal for a single card or two cards with each allocated eight lines.

Of the remaining 8 PCI Express lines, 4 are connected to the onboard stroage NVME slot and the remaining 4 manage the chipset communication. In turn, the latter component is equipped with a controller capable of handling up to 16 PCI Express 4.0 lines, allocated to two M.2 slots for integrated storage, PCI Express 1x on-board mounted slots, integrated on-board wired and wireless network peripherals, USB controllers and SATA storage devices.

These new features affect the new chipset's overall consumption, with the source indicating a TDP of 15 Watts versus the previous generation's 5 Watts. That's why all X570 motherboards whose images appear online are equipped with a chipset-specific fan cooling system.

We recall how the Ryzen 3000 processors can also be used already on the market, based on the 300 and 400 series chipsets, with socket AM4 motherboards, provided they receive an update of the bios that implements their official support. All the major producers are working to complete the development of these bios before the processors ' official release, which is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2019.
