• After a great feat, exploit, people tend to praise you, give accolade; however, you must learn to give glory of what you did to God.
- God does not want His glory to be shared by any person (Isaiah 48:11).
“I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.”
Isaiah 42:8 (NKJV)
• If you want the move of God in your life and ministry to be preserved, then learn to honour God and ascribe the glory of your success to Him.
- When you do not acknowledge God, you begin to see yourself, your ability, as the reason for your success; then you are heading for downfall—you are sowing the seeds of your own destruction.
- Herod died, he was struck by an angel, because he did not ascribe the glory of his speech to God (Acts 12:23).
• If you ministered to someone, or a group of people, and God honoured your prayer, miracles are performed; then let the people know that God is the One who did it—that you are just an instrument.
- “So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? OR WHY LOOK SO INTENTLY AT US, AS THOUGH BY OUR OWN POWER OR GODLINESS WE HAD MADE THIS MAN WALK?
- The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus…
- And His name, through FAITH IN HIS NAME, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”
Acts 3:12,13,16 (NKJV)
• When you counsel someone and your counsel yielded a fruit, the person you counselled got solution to his or her problem, through the counsel given; wisdom demands that you ascribe the glory of it to God, He gave you the wisdom.
- When God uses you to meet somebody’s need financially, materially; let the person know that God has only used you as an instrument to bless them, it is God who actually blessed them.
- In any position of leadership you found yourself, and you are being used to meet people’s needs; let them know that God is the One working, that you are just an instrument in God’s hand.
- Do not allow your head to swell because of people’s praise; give every glory of your achievements to God.
• If you want to last in ministry or any assignments given to you by God—learn to give praise and glory of your success to Him.
- “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?
- I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
- SO THEN NEITHER HE WHO PLANTS IS ANYTHING, NOR HE WHO WATERS, BUT GOD WHO GIVES THE INCREASE.”
