Starting in early 2018, PBSA will make recommendations for Witnesses to deploy software related to the Bookie betting exchange on the Peerplays Public Testnet. This will enable testing of Bookie in an environment that mirrors, as closely as possible, the live Peerplays blockchain.

Deployment of Bookie software by Witnesses on the live Peerplays blockchain will be recommended by PBSA (a) when testing on the Public Testnet is successfully completed and (b) when PBSA considers the entire Bookie product to be ready for launch.

In preparation for this, PBSA asks Witnesses to consider the following points:

1 Public Testnet
In a Bulletin released on September 5th, 2017, PBSA made the following recommendation:

"To continue to achieve the highest standards of software security for the Peerplays blockchain, PBSA strongly suggests that all Peerplays witness node operators immediately begin to participate in a parallel public “testnet” blockchain(s)."

PBSA repeats this recommendation. Active support of a Public Testnet by Witnesses is a crucial element in the secure and timely roll-out of new software and decentralized applications on the live Peerplays blockchain.

PBSA suggests that Witnesses use the same Account Name on Public Testnet(s) as on the live Peerplays blockchain where possible. This will make clear for PPY token holders which Witnesses are actively supporting Public Testnet efforts.

2 API nodes & seed nodes
PBSA strongly recommends that all Peerplays Witnesses run both a public API node and a seed node. While public API node and seed node can be identical, it is highly recommended to have the block-producing Witness node on an entirely separate machine.

3 Witness Communications
PBSA plans to implement new communication channels with Witnesses. The intention is to facilitate better knowledge sharing, more effective community discussion, and timely handling of new software releases, bug-reporting, and other issues that may affect the Peerplays blockchain. More details to come in January 2018.

May I suggest that PBSA open up some forum where we can ask open questions with respect to Peerplays to ensure supporters, token holders and interested parties have relevant facts?

Some open questions:
-What is the plan to offer more PPY tokens?
-What is the plan for listing on a real exchange where there is actually some liquidity?
-How do I transfer my tokens from the idiotic bitshares exchange (where they want to continue to show everything in bitshares token value) to the peerplays core wallet? The instructions downloaded are absolutely useless.
-My PPY tokens reside in bitshares as both rudex and openledger formats. Why? Which ones are the correct ones to transfer to the core wallet?
-Is there a plan to make your blockchain usage for PPY token holders easier? I'm an engineer and what I've read makes no sense. Do you actually want people to use your tokens and blockchain or do you want this to be only for programmers? The average person will never use your blochchain unless it is dead simple to download an app and to transfer funds and use the decentralized apps.

Lastly, I'm serious about my questions as a token holder excited to see Peerplays reach its intended audience and market value.

Hi @morseke1,

Thanks for your message. Aside from our website, the next best place to find information and an active community is on our Telegram channel.

Thanks.
