The Book of Proverbs teaches that ignorance is something negative and that it should be avoided, because to achieve the natural desire for happiness, men need the most important and perfect science, the wisdom, and not the exercise of simple virtue such as justice and prudence as the greek philosopher Aristotle affirmed in his philosophical teachings, if happiness were the result of the exercise of the virtues of the soul, humanity would live in a happy world without problems, but reality is not like that.
Acquiring wisdom is more important than exercising virtue because wisdom teaches men to be assertive, that is, to be precise and accurate in solving problems, thence wisdom is directly related to success in man's life. And wisdom has something very particular, "her" path is very arduous, progressive, and "she" constantly tests men, that is why many people fail when searching for "her".
This is why the book of Proverbs insistently calls to seek wisdom and develop intelligence because he who seeks these things is at a clear advantage over the ignorant person, the opposite person of the wise; and with these words, the sapiential book, attributed to King Solomon, left a valuable proverb to men about this issue: "Ignorant people get what their foolishness deserves, but the clever are rewarded with knowledge" Proverbs 14:18.
All people are subject to the law of the sowing and reaping: "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." Hosea 8:7.
And the Bible with its countless stories teaches men that the ignorant and the foolish are the ones who suffer the most from its effects, but on the other hand the wise, those who intelligently seek knowledge, are blessed by this universal law.
