I read about a survey on the medicinal uses of marijuana, and I began to think; heck, why has the world termed it "illegal". Well, I guess Monopoly of the market by Cigarette companies are to be blamed. My opinion though

I always tell people that just because some people chose to abuse marijuana...does not mean it should be termed illegal. There are people that smoke packs of cigarette that have no medical benefit daily, also its always indicated on cigarette pack that its a health hazard...but I guess thats not enough to label it illegal

Not only the tobacco industry but also the alcohol and paper industry had impact on the legality of marijuana. Since cannabis is a competitor to alcohol and the paper that could be made from hemp would be more environmentally friendly and efficient than wood, alcohol and wood companies had to do something against the competition.
