Back to Eden, holistic gardening documentary film

in permaculture •  6 years ago

Hey y'all, I'm up late cause I just finished watching a movie that can change the world. This is a movie that was recommended to me by @freedompoint in the Global Homesteading Collective discord chat.

Not only is the movie about permaculture, but it binds it's principles to spirituality. As I've learned more about permaculture, I've not been able to get God's perfect creation of man in the Garden of Eden out of my head. Gardening was the first occupation, and it was given by God in a state of perfection. That's heavy to me.

I figured this movie needs to be on chain here, as this seems a pretty happening joint for permies. Since it's offered to view for free on YouTube by the directors, I figured it'd be kosher to link it here and I bet everyone in this community, Christian or not, will love it.

Take a bit of time (it's an hour and fourty five minutes) and watch it if you can. In the words of @freedompoint, "it's a game changer." You won't regret watching it.

I'm off to bed, as it's after midnight. Y'all sleep well.

Stay relevant

Nate

Oh I love this idea. We considered Back to Eden when we first built our homesteading gardens. Our major problem is that we have mother and mother-in-law mostly running the gardens. Don't know how this concept would fly with them.

Tell em to watch the movie! If they're not convinced, kick em out!

(Maybe not the last bit, that's up to y'all.) 😂

I'm guessing you haven't read the book "How to make friends and influence people"? Did I mention the word mother-in-law?!!!!!! Mine is a darling, my husband's won't be too appreciative of your advice..... HAHAHAHA

I started reading it and then stopped. Not my thing ;) lol

Y'all have a whole family setup on your homestead? That's pretty cool!

Never read the book. Don't intend too. I just thought it an appropriate reply to your comment. Yes. A whole family setup. Sometimes not so cool but it is rare that generations can live together

Ditto on the book hahahah

I think that's super awesome. A multi generational homestead would be really cool. Like the old days when things worked better.
