This is a beautiful and inspiring story of a lady in Ireland who borrowed money to buy a field and then single handed planted it over two years and more to create a beautiful and prosperous food forest.
I just came across it on youtube and felt the urge to share it here. I asked her if she had heard of steemit as it would be a perfect platform to issue updates of the smallholdings progress and share gardening information. I hope she comes over =)
She made it sound simple (planting - growing) but knowing how much time you have to put in to take care of them throughout all seasons... for 13 years! This is incredible....

It is incredible but gardening is that labour of love we happily commit ourselves to, plus it is easier than you think maybe - I am growing trees and various plants all my life just about - making gardens and leaving them to begin others in new places. its a constant life process. I am currently growing fruit trees to plant into the jungle here in Costa Rica to benefit locals and animals.
It is so spiritually fulfilling in so many ways one cannot always imagine, until you start getting your hands dirty ;)
