Pfizer shared its BA.5 bivalent booster trial data showing that contrary to some preprints, the updated BA.5 booster provides a better immune response than the original booster. Make sure you get the new boosters!

This is why you want to be careful using limited preprint data.

Those 55 and older who received the BA.5 booster had geometric mean titer of 896 for a 13.2-fold rise (95% CI: 8.0, 21.6) in neutralizing antibodies.

For those 55 and older who received the original booster geometric mean titer were 236 for a 2.9-fold rise (95% CI: 2.1, 3.9).

So roughly a 4-fold difference between the updated booster and the original booster.

Those who were previously infected also saw significantly increased antibodies after receiving the updated booster.
