2 Kings 5:25-27(KJV); But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

THE LEPROSY OF NAAMAN

Our theme scripture teaches that the principle of submission sometimes requires that you never do what your spiritual authority has deliberated not to do.

This wisdom sometimes requires that you follow the patterns even when you have not fully understood them.

Gehazi did not have this wisdom. Even after the Prophet Elisha refused to receive gifts from the hand of Naaman, he went after him and lied that Elisha had changed his mind.

The spirit at work in Gehazi caused him to take what his master could not take; to do what his father by principle refused to do.

Children of God who do not have this wisdom end up carrying the "leprosy of Naaman."

It means that they are sons in a ministry but are very different from their spiritual authorities; they are different from the ministries they come from; they are different from the community churches where they were raised.

The "leprosy of Naaman" causes people to always question your roots.

FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 13:7, Philippians 4:9

GOLDEN NUGGET: The principle of submission sometimes requires that you never do what your spiritual authority has deliberated not to do.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this wisdom. I carry understanding and do not seek after that which my spiritual authority rejects. Because I have understood true sonship, my heart is not after physical rewards. I walk in knowledge of the precious and vile and I am not greedy for any material gain. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
