MAGELLAN'S CROSS is one of the highlights in the SINULOG FESTIVAL in Cebu, Philippines. It was planted by a Portuguese named Ferdinand Magellan who claimed that he discovered Philippines. Though, there were arguments that Chinese were in the Philippines prior to Magellan's claimed the "discovery" of the Philippine Archipelago.
