During the past few weeks, I’ve been strolling on the internet trying to find out new interesting ideas for my blog. After hours of surfing the net, I discovered a personality test called the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The MBTI was made by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. The MBTI is based on a theory that was proposed by Carl Jung. The indicator did ring a bell, I knew I have taken this before. I became a subject once for a psychological test conducted by my cousin in college and I knew I have undergone the MBTI. Out of curiosity, I researched and took the test again because I have already forgotten my results.
For starters, the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a questionnaire used for indicating people’s perception and preferences as well as decision making. In short, it is a test that could help an individual know himself better by identifying himself in one of the 16 personalities.
The 16 Personalities
Here is a quick run through of the 16 personalities:
- Attitudes: Whether you focus on Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)
- Taking information: Which is dominant Sensing (S) or Intuition (N)
- How an individual makes a decision: By Thinking (T) or by Feeling (F)
- Dealing with the world: Through Judging (J) or by Perceiving (P)
