Mothers day at Beato Tommaso Maria Fusco Hope House

Mothers day was a week ago but the memories I have of that day will last me a lifetime. For that day, I donated my mom by spending a day with its orphans.

The orphanage is located at 93 P. Rodriguez St., Cogon, Bogo City, 6010 Cebu.Its my second visit. The first one was upon the invitation of my friend Tess in the picture with her Canadian boyfriend and with other common friends last December.
For this, I have asked friends to help and I'm lucky I have some. My friend Darryl provided a sackful of slightly used branded clothes. While my friend Tess offered her time and pack some gifts as well from her online business. This let me say, do find relationships that will weather proof you in your life as one great pastor advise meaning they have to go be true and loyal in good and hard times.

I offered to pay her one way fare and our breakfast. It's a good thing she's the friend who's not picky eater so here we are waiting for our 3hours van trip to Bogo just a day before the national election day.

Rebecca is moms real name but people call her Beckay. My cousin from my father side was name after her so she will grew up as feisty being born premature.
Upon arrival at the center we were greeted by the kids so we held some games. Starting with a singing contest, drawing, letter writing then statue dance. It was fun.

Because it's hard to care for your own flesh and blood imagine doing that with other people's kids and multiplied the number. So we asked them to scribble something for the two nuns and read them out as well.

I'm not rich and so are my friends we just like doing this as it makes us feel good. To be honest, volunteering had saved me from the angst of life. It had refreshed me when life weighed me down and it rebuilt my self esteem after my long distance relationship went dry. Besides for all the blessings that befell me when I wasn't worthy who am I not to pay it forward.

Lucky are the ones cared for by their mom. Like this cute fellow passenger me and Tess were lucky to have aboard. But many orphans need our help. Their stories are of survival and I would attest you'd find nuggets of wisdom in their tales.

Motherhood is a gift too many take forgranted. Mothers doesn't only apply to biological ones or to females but to anyone who nurtures a child to the best that he or she can.So to all mothers around the world kudos to you It's a lifetime job that is under appreciated at most.

Charity like this needs our support so I hope I help them on this by blogging about our experience. I do hope also that even of our prices wasn't as grand I hope it helps them. For donations suggestions include cash, school supplies, diapers ,toiletries and foods.

I have dreamed of being a mom but my life choices didn't lead me there. Sometimes I wish I choose differently but I guess had God willed it I would be one now. So if I aint there there must be good reasons. Thus I past the stage of feeling less to those with child because on God's eye my value isn't diminished by my barren state.
