HANGINAN – one of Leyte’s most revered pilgrimage sites. We went in Maasin City the capital of the Province of Souther Leyte Philippines. We came to hanginan with my leytians friends we visit the religious image of St. Francis Xavier inside a chapel. Before you can see the image of St. Francis Xavier you can walk first a 1300 ft. to see the image.
Many have raved and praised about the awe-inspiring scenery and spiritual feel of this mountainous village in Maasin City. And finally got the opportunity to hike the Hanginan. This is my first time to walk in hanginan im so excited to climb a mountain at first you feel that your foot is hurts but in the middle of the mountain you can feel the very fresh air the view of the mountain and sea. Although the trail overall is a little short (about 3 kilometres), it was still a sweet, blissful and slightly exhausting hike
In the top of a mountain you can see the Religious image of St. Francis Xavier chapel.
After almost 4 hours of slow paced hiking we finally reached the hanginan. The tiresome hike was rewarded by this scenic and fulfilling view.
