ANGRYMAN 'Decides' to be HAPPY Today...(#30 Contest Post)

in philosophy •  7 years ago  (edited)

Now don't get too worried about me people...I'm still gonna be 'angry' at times; perhaps 'most' of the time, but not today...

Why am I 'happy' today you ask? Well, I'm glad you inquired my dear inquisitor...

BECAUSE I FRIGGIN CHOOSE TO BE...that's why....

Allow me to explain.

Today I had a memory peek out at me from the depths of my minds muddy, shore...It's a place inside of our head where many events seem to wander, get stuck in a gooey mass of tar like terra unfirma and slowly sink. Occasionally while strolling through the mindscape of grey matter, we may see a hint of our partially submerged past, languishing in silence...spent from years of fighting the mucky entrapment...

The memory which I stumbled upon today, was one in which the ex-brother-in-law of 'my' ex-brother-in-law who is an ex-boss of my ex-brother-in-law who referred me to his ex-brother-in-law eventually becoming my ex-boss as well...'whew'...(he and I) had stopped for coffee on the way to a carpet laying job.

At the convenience store we had a rather negative encounter with some pea-brain, sorry excuse for a human being...The guy seemed to have rattled me more than my boss, because I was the only one carrying on about it long into the van ride to work.

Within the midst of my ranting pause, I turned to look at Fred who seemed utterly relaxed; sipping his coffee at a stoplight with a smile on his face...I asked, "don't people like that bother you"

Fred answered, "I'm not going to let that guy ruin my day..."

His response kind of stunned me into a state of spontaneous, enlightenment. Fred's statement served to remind me that we have choices in our daily lives which often escape us. We may not be able to change what happened to us, but we can certainly change the lingering affect upon us...It is possible to 'choose' happiness in any given moment...It is possible to reject hate, sadness, envy, greed or any other limiting, negative emotion.

A common response upon hearing this truth is, 'easier said than done'...but, is it really that hard? I think that it is harder to remember we have such power, once we've learned of it. Negative emotions certainly have a way of clouding our clarity, causing us often to blindly react. It is easy to change the effect many things have upon us in our daily lives, simply by choice. Once learned, accepted and practiced, we 'can' choose to be happy.

So, AngryMan chooses to be happy today. I hope that you are happy too...if not...I hope that you get happy by choice. Screw the small shit... You 'deserve' happiness...Embrace it.

I'm outta here. See ya on the rebound.
Ciao.

Another @angryman philosophically inspired tidbit.

Regards @angryman

Thanks for your kind reply @angryman ! Yes sometimes a break is all that is needed !✌👍

I am glad your happy m8 , i mean i was to ... until i saw that mail from the lawyer of my ex. Some ( childporn watching ) dump ass judge decided that i have to pay 1/6 of my monthly income to people, that , from there choice , i haven't heard of or seen from for over 2 years .
I do not even know where they all live .
Pain and anger go together , pain triggers anger .

Well at least i can be happy about Angryman choosing for a day
where he won't let anything hurt him ;-)

Hello @small1axe ...thanks for visiting, reading and voting on my post. Sorry to hear about your financial plight. I'm hoping that 1/6 loss of income becomes minuscule compared to a 'new' much larger income stream of some sort...Maybe an inheritance or winning the lottery...??? Regards @angryman

I am impressed , Your hope for me is a very accurate one ;-)
How you know i am running a freebitcoin account and have wealthy older relatives , just amazing .

Well i wouldn't like a family member to suddenly pass away and i never got lucky at a lottery .
Thanks for your encouraging reply .

A much needed reminder that sometimes we just need to think positively to drag ourselves out of the dumps.

Yes leftamessage...how easy it seems to be, yet as easy to forget...

Soooo... Turn that frown upside down??? There is wisdom in that. Thanks for the encouragement.

Yes...at least try when needed...it might actually work; of course that is, as long as nobody is standing there hitting you in the head with a rock...Thennnn...I don't know...

What? Rocks to the head don't make you happy? Gee, your a hard one to please. :^P

I've already had about three concussions...dumbed me down some...

I'm really sorry, for laughing, but I lost my $#!% when I read this.

(regains composer) Sorry to hear about that. (cough)
