Our Corrupt Sense of Fairness

in philosophy •  9 years ago

There is no such thing as "Fairness".

What is "Fair" is determined by those with power and is a subjective quality. For instance we consider a trial by jury to be fair, even though it often produces factually incorrect results. But it is the system that our government uses and the citizenry backs up the government by not rebelling.

If people truly believe something is unfair, then they must do something about it; they must tear down the thing which is unfair and replace it with something that they believe is fair. Or else remove themselves from the system entirely.
