If you don’t use it, you lose it.

If you don’t use your creativity, you really will lose it. Exercising your creativity is like exercising your body. It makes it stronger, more willing to do the hard work, and makes it grow. But it’s also all too easy to forget or neglect your creativity workouts. After all, you probably have a family, a job, friends, hobbies… the list goes on.

To help with that, here are some easy ways to exercise your creativity everyday:

1. Write it down
Keep your weird, creative ideas in a book so you have somewhere to go for inspiration.

2. Look for beauty
Life can be monotonous sometimes, so remind yourself that there’s beauty in it too.

3. Work on projects
Don’t let your life become all work and family and chores. Put aside time to work on a project that probably isn’t going to make you rich, but makes your creative brain sing.

4. Be quiet
If you find yourself with some free time, don’t get on your phone and play a game. Instead, sit and let your mind wander. This is a lost art, and it’s something you need to recapture to save your creativity.

5. Look outside your world
If you stay in your box, you’ll only create box shaped things. So inspire yourself by looking at other cultures and other ways of thinking.
