Demotivators, demotivationals..

These memes sounded so sane back in my corporate-Kevin days, not very long ago. And they're pretty funny too, simply because they're so true. Somehow, Steemit seems to recognize the existential crises that the good demotivated people at despair.com understands.

Steem or Steemit.. I'll just use them interchangeably.

Here's a list of what Steemit is capable of de-demotivating within its system. We can sure hope for its ability to spill forth into mainstream crowd!

Steemit destroys traditionality

The open-forum on Steemit is uncensorable. Discussions, new and old will surface and spark discussions among Steemers. We'll transition from doing things the sucky way, to doing things the less sucky way.

Steemit destroys (traditional) consultancy

In Steemit, we're all on the same boat. Fixing the boat is convenient here. It's not like IRL where you have to traverse in meatspace, waste your calories and precious time talking to people that don't necessarily have their skin in your game. With aligned interests, consultancy becomes "fix the damn boat" on Steemit.

Steemit destroys (traditional) government

In the Isle of Steem, no one defines roles for anyone. There's no coercion here, only emergent leaders. Choose to learn, and become whoever you want to be. Build your reputation. Work with others. Don't squander your potential with job scopes. Choose whichever side of the boat that you want to fix.

Sure, there are forces at play - but the game is demonstrably decentralized, unlike IRL countries and corporations. Expect top notch solutions.. just because Steemit is so open!

Steemit destroys (traditional) economics

Steemit's economic protocol has been set in motion, open and transparent. We iterate our activities on top of the protocol that works 100% as intended. One thing that traditional economics fail to understand is this: the world is largely governed by unexpected Black Swan events. With a decentralized community of reputation holders, predictions become more balanced.

And who knows? Maybe Steemit is itself a Black Swan, and the birthplace of many more Black Swan events to come.

Steemit destroys sacrificial rites

Steemit will give you your heart back. You're not sacrificing. You can keep trying. Do the stuff that you like. Whatever you like. All you have to do is try to connect with the audience / friends / community members, if you want to extract value.

Making connections with your content is the minimum threshold of value.

You'll be having fun, doing heart work.

Steemit destroys hope

Steemit is so open and transparent (i think). It renders hope obsolete, in the sense that anyone can dissect, scrutinize, analyze, and work towards solving the problem. Doesn't matter if it's inward or outward problem-solving. Everyone's around to help each other. And fix the damn boat!
