There is no doubt the internet is revolutionary and still in its infancy. I don't think human knowledge plateaus. Knowing how to make the simplest printing press is necisary before one can make a more complex printing press.
I don't think we've seen a tenth of the change the internet will bring to society. Just two examples of major changes underway are the 'sharing econemy' the term for companies like Uber, and the decline of physical retail stores. Online sales are up every year.
