Ikigai: Your Core, Your Purpose, Your Strength.

What in the world is this?

Recently, thanks to @karinzdailygrind 's initiative to re-birth her initiative to the next level, I was honoured to have the privilege to have a refresher course with @coachmelleow and an extra reality check slap from @maverickfoo to re-align my purpose especially when I now need to juggle tons on things on my plate.

My most recent case of candidiasis attack due to underlying stress, obvious rush of work and my parent's health deterioration have undoubtedly remind me that I am quite off the rail.

With #teammalaysia flourishing and building faster than ever thanks to the magnificent super talented individuals (in no particular order) like @bitrocker2020 , @awesomianist , @davidke20, @danieldoughty, @elizacheng , @joannewong, @aaronleang, @zord189 and last but not least @superoo7 and many more who are birthing and spearheading their individual strengths and talents, sometimes things do get a little overwhelming.

And sitting in a small room, on a raining cold afternoon, along with a group of people with 2 magnificent coaches and motivator, adding a cup of warm matcha latte; you just couldn't push off any more excuses to re-boot your vision and be inspired by others who are in some ways struggling like me and just need that extra umph of realisation.

This is something I wish for not only my #teammalaysia family to experience it, but also world wide young individuals to have that taste of what truly meant to be fuelled with clarity.

I wish I could share more of the details of the course, but I know this cannot be done due to P & C and also it's the coaches' bread and butter.

But there ARE some things that I wish to spur you into thinking and your curiosity that I hope with that, you can embark your journey to find yourself and your true calling (as most Christians would like to term in that jargon).

Your Core Values Makes You, YOU.

201880505-175354_800.jpg
@maverickfoo has excellently point out (with his very humorous way to deliver it - mind you, self-righteous people might find it "offensive" but when you see it from his blunt point, you will appreciate his direction) when you have a very steady and solid values right in your soul, it shapes your believe and your behaviour.

Often times I have realised when my values are compromised, that is what it will turn my life topsy-turvy .

Why? Because it just pulls you away from who you really are.

Unless your core values are totally full of crap... that's perhaps a need of new values is necessary to reshape your life.

A very good example is when you realising you are wasting your hours doing nothing and don't care; pretty much you need to find out what the hell your core values are.

Because as both Mel and Mav has mentioned: If it doesn't benefit you and others, that's pretty crappy.

And I agree with them. Something's gotta change.

Another Important Realisation: Emotions

During the sharing session what I took home from this 3 hour class is that emotions do link with passion, but often times those who does not have solid core values are easily manipulated by emotions from surroundings and tend to act on an impulse.

And then actually wondered: What the heck did I do just now / why did I wasted my time like that.
This usually happens when all the excitement driven by emotions have settled and you return to your quiet space you return to an empty heart. Your soul / heart did not feel FULL.

I can pretty much say that it happened to me on and off and I know that when that happens, I am not fulfilling my calling (purpose) in life.

And then... it could lead you to: SLB (Self Limiting Believes)

Source
And then you pretty much doubt your self so much you wouldn't care a damn and repeat the same cycle again and again.

As what @coachmelleow pointed: RUNNING ON DEFAULT MODE

Ironically, some even insist that it is the circle of life .

This is actually what my former university classmate shared with me.

And it really sounds crappy to me as I am writing it down.

Because we are fearfully and wonderfully made

Fearfully as in articulately, making sure it has no mistakes, and all well stringed together.

Well... at least that's my take...

And we are meant for more than just a default mode .

As I continue to fix all my answers for my Ikigai, I'll just leave you guys some thoughts.

Is what you are currently doing and living leaving you feel full (at heart, not the stomach), or is it just temporary satisfaction then back to emptiness with wonder?

Are you daily searching for food, gadgets, event, movies... etc just to keep you happy for the day?

Reality check: Just so you know, being busy doesn't leave your heart full. Even a vacation might only give you a height of happiness and nothing but tiredness at the end of the trip.

I look forward for more of this Living Your Purpose classes to be conducted more for #teammalaysia as I personally feel that there are just too many people not living their lives as their fullest potential and often are just money driven ... and that is not beneficial because you can't bring your money to the grave anyway.

Until then

Very interesting! Never knew about this Ikigai concept before. Thanks for sharing this!

This is really good method to narrow down your strength. It helps us to find out are we on the right track or not.
For those who are usually a “jack of all trades” , it could be a little tricky and probably might be helpful when close friends who are honest with us will help us pinpoint our strengths too.

Ikigai- A new concept for me. Thks for sharing

hi @sarez , you can use the Ikigai chart (at the right) and write down your strengths in it, and see what what your true calling is.

Life is beyond daily survival, putting food on the table is one of them; and once you found your purpose, your life (even when trials come) will take you through a journey you will never regret living in it.

Thanks for stopping by

Thks for caring to reply. Will try. Never thought people care at all for unnamed persons far away. Best wishes!

Well, it is high time to understand true purpose of Steemit nation then. 😀 Be blessed and be a blessing to others too @sarez

Love this Ikigai word - a life without Ikigai is absolutely meaningless...

Nice summary of the key points and takeaways @littlenewthings :)

Very good reality check indeed. So easy to get carried away with our routine, starting out with one intent in mind and ending up so far from the goal post and finally losing sight of why we started something.

Yes...been there. It's good to have accountability partners's and coaches to help stay on track and focused.

Thank you for sharing. Sorry didn't get a chance to check this out earlier, been so caught up with our historic change. :)

Speaking of ikigai....we need one for our nation!

OMG... and I totally missed out your reply @kchitrah ! Yikes!

Lol! It's ok. Happens ;)
