how do you know if they are yours is the real question.

What do you mean if they were mine? Who's other choice would it be?

Influenced, sure, but influence does not equal force.

influence means that it is not your choice. now imagine that everything you do since birth is the result of trillions of small influences, gradually expressed into given actions from which none of them are truly yours.
