Hi there @mindhunter, is that a trophy?

I graduated BA (hons) in '96 and finished my Masters in 1998 here in Canada. I love philosophy!

Check out my post: "21st Century Alchemy -- and the discovery of the philosopher's stone."

I am def on the Empiricist side with my Metaphysics -- i.e. Metaphysics refers to the re-discovered platonic dialogue and not some kind of mind "stuff." If you studied in Scotland i bet you like D. Hume as well ;)

Steemit has been a wonderful epiphany for me and my writing. Insofar as now at least i am doing it again.

So, is it true? Are you the Champ?

Cheers! from @thedamus

Anything I don't know about Hume can be written on the back of a small stamp. I posted non-stop in the #philosophy tag when I first signed up to Steemit. I'm a Socratic thinker ... and yes! I am the champ and that is a thinkers trophy! :)

Awesome! Congrats for the win and for the obvious clarity of though at your command. I am yet to explore the philosophy tag in earnest, but will certainly check it out now...

You sound like a Hume specialist -- that's great! I too have been awoken from my dogmatic slumbers, although it has been a few years since i have engaged in any serious philosophy.

Cheers @mindhunter! I'm going to check out some of your posts and see what i can learn :)

And congrats again on your Rodin trophy! A sharp mind and a clean wit will take you anywhere.

I'm hoping for a vacation to Greece later this year where I can strut my Socratic musings with the locals - now that is a nice @mindhunter dream @thedamus :)

I visited Athens in 1990 and snuck into the grounds of the Acropolis (no way you could do it these days). This was before University, but all through my two degrees it was cool to have a touchstone to the actual place where Socrates&P&A were strutting their stuff.

In fact, one of my undergrad essays started thus:

Deciding what makes an action right or wrong has been at the top of the philosophical agenda since Socrates bare-footed it through the streets of Athens. It still makes me laugh :)

I was looking at Edinburgh to Athens flights this morning. August is the worst month for Greece! It's been 39C/102F there most of last week :( OUCH! One must never overheat when in philosophical mode ... November sounds good :)

You def want to find out when "low season" is re: tourists. Philosophers don't stand in line behind the riff raff ;)

And i agree. Sweating buckets and getting woozy from the heat makes not for a fine dialectic environment.

For me, October/November is the prime time for Greece i.e. cooler evenings to allow a nice long dialectic stroll by the seaside :)

Love that sculpture work.

It really is a treasure. I love it.

Is that the University that is pronounced "hairytwat"?
I have many friends up there and that's what my Mrs thought they were saying when they mentioned Herriot Wat.
Cracked me up dude.
Nice trophy.

We used to joke that if God hated you he sent you to Herriot Watt or Napier! LOL!
