With all the focus on career and workforce, a particular kind of labour often falls through the cracks—this is the labour of childcare. Today, many children are raised in daycares, or by a single parent. How does this affect child development? Is the two-parent nuclear family really the best model? Or can we move beyond that—perhaps to futures where children are raised more in community or by a large kinship network?
