This actually makes my rants about retrocausality and emergent reality make sense.

In a nutshell it says that things can exist without being real... Basically if something has the potential to exist it exists in a way that we don't understand.

This is basically what I have been saying about the multiverse. It doesn't actually exist, it exists as a infinite amount of possibilities. That's what these D-Wave Quantum Computers and CERN are "tapping" into when they are "accessing resources from another universe" as they like to say. This is exactly what I have been saying for my whole life! If you can imagine something, that in itself proves that thing you imagined is part of reality and real in a way, just not real in the sense that it has physical form in our space-time.

At its root, the new idea holds that the common conception of “reality” is too limited. By expanding the definition of reality, the quantum’s mysteries disappear. In particular, “real” should not be restricted to “actual” objects or events in spacetime. Reality ought also be assigned to certain possibilities, or “potential” realities, that have not yet become “actual.” These potential realities do not exist in spacetime, but nevertheless are “ontological” — that is, real components of existence.

“This new ontological picture requires that we expand our concept of ‘what is real’ to include an extraspatiotemporal domain of quantum possibility,” write Ruth Kastner, Stuart Kauffman and Michael Epperson.

This would also mean that something that hasn't been created yet that will be in the future already and always has existed even if it is just a possibility within space-time. It still "exists" within the larger context of reality that we don't comprehend yet...
