Sowing the Seeds of the Future

Far too often our actions do not match up with our ideals. Zealotry has yet to make the world an iota more compassionate and just. If we want the world to be so then we must behave in such a manner. Insisting others do and think like us and making them the enemy when they do not, does not build a better world. It maintains the status quo. Compassion is only found in the myriad and the acceptance of differences.

Take care what you stomp out in your insistence that others do better. Strive to do better yourself.

Always good to see you and yes! I agree. The first thing that comes to mind is a parent yelling at their children to be quiet.

Now that will get you everywhere. Not quite what you were going for, but simple to understand.

Hope all is going well for you and great to see you again!

Tip!

LOL ... I think every parent has been guilty of that from time to time, sometimes maybe just so they will hear you. But I do remember as a teacher doing my best to model an 'inside' voice:) Nice to have you drop in:):):)

A thoughtful, inspiring post, Pryde - very relevant in today's global culture, but thankfully we live in a just and tolerant society that focusses more on issues than on individual differences. Every day I strive to take footsteps to be just a little more understanding, a little more compassionate and to root out hidden biases and prejudices , the little foxes that spoil the vines :)

So well said, John:) Thank you:)

So beautifully written! What you express is a truth that can often be difficult to grapple with in the human experience, because in most cases it's easier to talk the talk than it is to walk the walk...the concept of 'honor', in the sense of holding to codes of behavior which we know ourselves to be aligned with on an ethical level, even when it's difficult, is one that seems antiquated these days but I think is sorely needed.

Love your thinking on this. Thank you, Bennett:)

:)

Are you back? We missed you!

Hey there gorgeous. I have been kicking around and still upvoting. Been super busy with a novel series and homeschooling my son. Hopefully, I will have a little more time to post:)

I hope so @prydefoltz! How old is your son? Mine just turned 12. Little elf of a boy, I can't believe he's in middle school already. The experience of trying to be a good role model for him and his peers is part of what has had me thinking about concepts like honor recently...

My son is 9. Yes, I understand what you mean. I try to behave as an adult as I would have him behave:)

yes. Not always easy but I'm grateful for the extra incentive ;D

Hi @sunravelme! Good to see you, how are you? Are you still involved with the Isle?

Ooooooo a novel series!! Let me know where I can get it when it comes out <3
Hi @bennettitalia! I am still involved in the Isle- it's been a little slow there lately, but things are reviving. Glad to see you back too! Everyone's coming out of the woodwork!

:D yay! I'm so happy to be back. Will have to check in on the Isle and see what's happening when I get a chance. If any help needed with curation etc. lmk :)

Good to see you post!

Good to be seen:)

Very well stated.

So glad to see you back. Does this mean you’re going to be around regularly from now on?

Thanks, Denise. We will have to play it by ear. Still working on the Wisp and its sequel and homeschooling. Busy girl:)

Hi @prydefoltz! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @dswigle!

And remember, the ends do not justify the means, the ends are contained in the means. Choose actions wisely.

Absolutely. Thank you, Jacob:)

Wonderful thoughts. Though so very hard, in our charged world where decisions affect many at a core level of basic humanity and survival. But I'm trying very hard to see both sides and take the higher road.
So glad to see you back 'on', and sorry I missed this. But I can vote for a comment. Have a nice, hopefully very sunny day. Cheers.
