Our Florida kitchen renovation idea

Our kitchen renovation story. It was estimated by local contractors by $2000 demolition price plus new counters and all installations $20000. Sorry. Could pay, but said THANKS, no thanks.
We ended up using 2 layers of cement sheets for an island, covering it with $2 per sq ft mosaic tiles, all by ourselves. We really enjoyed doing it. $100 price paid plus inexpensive sink from Ikea.
