Chinese Arch Milky Way

Not all arches in Utah are in southern Utah

One of the spots I visited a few weeks ago during an all night milky way binge.

Chinese Arch

I've shot here before and got the milky way through the arch so I wanted to try a bit different composition. I had to rig my tripod up against some rocks and over a sage brush to get the angle just right. I played around with the lighting as well. The foreground is lit by a nearby rocket factory, and the backside of the arch is lit with an LED panel on low power.

This arch is located near Promontory Point at the North end of the Great Salt Lake and is name in commemoration for the Chinese workers that worked on the railroad as there camp was nearby.

An amazing photo!

Thanks @crazy-andy!

Beautiful! We are still waiting for this nice weather over here so we can get out!

Thanks Verity! We've had nothing but nice weather this spring, which seems uncommon, I'll send some your way. 😉

Thanks that will be nice!
