So you're walking around a high mountain lake late at sunset or perhaps early at sunrise and no one is around... how does that make you feel?
- Calm
- Happy
- Relaxed
- Anxious
- Nervous
- Lonely
- Thankful
... what?
Last july in the high uintas on mirror lake at 6am
I mean the views are nice but how do you feel? And do these pictures translate any of that feeling as a bonus question.
Sunrise, alone and nobody around...
Hopeful, excited, and lonely. A little anxious if I don't find a composition I like, or if the sunrise is nice and I don't have a camera. Thankful, if I take the time to think about it. Tired, probably, if I was up for sunrise.
Getting specific, I've been to Mirror Lake twice in the morning but never alone. The first time I was dead tired and anxious, because it was the first day of the Photo Decathlon and we hadn't slept. The second time I was with a friend and I felt calm but nostalgic.

I'm going with happy, relaxed, and thankful. Happy because it's just hard for me to not be happy when out shooting a sunset/sunrise at a lake. Relaxed because I've done it enough that I don't get as concerned about potential problems out there as I did when I was less experienced. And thankful, well, I'm always glad I got out to experience those moments even if I don't end up with any keeper photos.
Beautiful shots! Makes me want to get outside asap!

I would likely feel calm and at peace. Love the wilderness and solitude. Hopefully thankful for life; but one can't always rely on being aware enough of your relative circumstance at that moment to feel that. Happy ? Perhaps. I would say content would be better word (still working on what happiness actually is in my middle age). Anxious/Nervous not typically. The only exception is if I had solo scrambled up a difficult route to get to this high altitude lake and I was still there at sunset and needed to down climb with a head torch.

Well, since I've never been able to take a good sunrise photo and I always mess it up I think I would be anxious. But if I leave that out, I think nostalgic would be it. I'm a people person. If I feel too happy or peaceful I always think about all the people I would want to share that moment with.

The landscape is very beautiful, but I would really feel too lonely. I would like to enjoy that scenario in a good company.

i suppose it depends on one's mental state, but the words peaceful, fey, enchanted, thankful, introspective, curious, and wonderous at the beauty of nature. I want to drink in all the colors and sounds and scents and hold them within. and while a photo can connect to a feeling of contentment or relaxation (yours), I've seldom found a photo that can adequately capture the essence of otherworldliness, enchantment or curiousity.

Perfectly at peace... I love getting lost in nature, nothing beats that felling of being alone, away from the busy, away from pressures that life puts on us. We are one with nature... we have the same frequency so we should be our best in this situation. ; )
