International Antarctic Centre

On Tuesday we made a trip to the International Antarctic Centre. We listened to a researcher there speak about her time in the New Zealand base in Antarctica, which was really fascinating. Apparently Antarctica holds the record for being the driest, windiest, AND coldest (no surprise there) place on earth, as well as the largest desert. While there was certainly plenty of interesting information to take in, seeing the blue penguins in action was my favorite part! They're such adorable creatures.

This was taken in the Antarctic storm simulator, which was definitely uncomfortably cold, but not quite as cold as it was back in Minnesota.

Nice post!

They are such cool creatures

Haha well, compared to the temperature in North America this winter, that windchill was definitely underwhelming. I wonder why they didn't the temperature further down...

Anyway, I love your first penguin picture! Caught right in action. Great shot :)

Who knows, maybe for legal reasons? Thank you!! :)
