ABOUT THE PHOTO
I love music, and I love this version of this song. It's actually the first song I played for my son Kane (@enak) when we brought him home from the hospital when he was a newborn. The song's lyrics "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain" are so true. Emily Tessmer, the musician featured in my photo, is one of our local stars. She has a great way of hitting people with her music and bringing a smile to their faces. I'm lucky that I get to photography Emily just about every year during the Trails and Vistas art/hike event. Her performance always hits me and is one of the highlights of the event.
RULES & HOW TO PLAY
For MUSIC MATCH MONDAY we would like you to share a piece of music (can be written lyrics or a link to a sound file or music video) AS WELL AS your own photo (or artwork) to go along with that music. We want to see how music inspires your art.
We will be judging your entries based on how your photo “matches” or fits the music that you chose, not on the technical quality of the photo. Try to convince us: feel free to write a description or story telling us how the photo or artwork relates to the song in your mind.

- Only one song per person, per post/Photo Star.
- Each Photo Star will choose their winner.
- For this game you have 2 days to play (Wednesday 6PM EST / 11PM UTC).

We like to take family road trips most weekends, we usually don't know where we're going or have any plans but we always end up somewhere and find something to do. We always go rural to escape the busy and this is just one of the many roads that we've found ourselves travelling.

This is one of the sadder songs I know:
It has to do with the clip, his voice (and Dutch dialect) and the period in which I heard this song (teenage years filled with insecurities).
Sometimes I feel this sad, but I can appreciate it better now. Sadness in our lives also gives us our happy moments. We need these contrasts in order to appreciate all that life has to give us.
I feel the same way while walking on graveyards. Sad places but we need them in order to realize how lucky / happy / content we should be to be alive. We need to contemplate. Sad is not something to be avoided at all times.

Yeah, it's been a while since I've been in a graveyard. But today, I walked with my wife on the old walk we used to take our dog (who passed away a few months ago). Kind of gave me that same feeling.
