ABOUT THE PHOTO

We're sports people always looking for adventures, most of the times looking for experiences that involves some adrenaline running thru our veins and every person that practices any sport knows that falling is just part of the journy. The feeling we have around that song is not as pretty as the picture, the truth is that when we're falling, while in the air we just can remember "Boom! Here comes the Boom!", it happens most of the times with uncontroled falls. We picked that image because we rather to see the controlled ones, instead of the uncontrolled ones because when we see those we can still feel the BOOM.

RULES & HOW TO PLAY

For MUSIC MATCH MONDAY we would like you to share a piece of music (can be written lyrics or a link to a sound file or music video) AS WELL AS your own photo (or artwork) to go along with that music. We want to see how music inspires your art.

We will be judging your entries based on how your photo “matches” or fits the music that you chose, not on the technical quality of the photo. Try to convince us: feel free to write a description or story telling us how the photo or artwork relates to the song in your mind.

  1. Share your music and photo in the comments of the Photo Star’s post.
  2. Only one entry per person on each Photo Star's post.
  3. Each Photo Star will choose their winner.
  4. For this game you have 2 days to play (Wednesday 6PM EST / 11PM UTC).

SCORING

  • Each Photo Star will choose five winning song-photos and award them with the following points:
  • 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2
  • (Max points allowed per person for this game is 18)
  • Winners will be added to the Photo Games Leaderboard
  • The total prize pool is 110 SBD and will be awarded the point leaders at the end of the month, as described here

Me gusta escuchar a música en espanol :) I believe this song perfectly matches this street scene which I captured in Havana

We love Calle 13 music, everything they say on their lyrics is so creative and true! We recommend you to check out the new Residente album as individual

Thanks for the recommendation, I didn't know about Residente's album yet! I listened to it and it has some good songs, but I still prefer his albums with calle 13 :)

As an artist i think that it's important to no only talk about nice and happy things in life. This image is from a set i've created around 2 years ago when i was in deep depresion trying to express lonelyness and sucidal thoughs. And i think i manage to capture jsut that in her eyes.

music
As for the track i picked i think the lyrics speak for themslefs.

Congratulations! You got 3 points, we're very aware about how lonely and autodestructive can be a person that feels that way, I just can imagin that depressed people looks themseves in the mirror just like the image you just matched with that song

Here is another Indian themed music match

I have no clue what he was singing about, but I couldn't stop watching. Ahaha. Sooo much dancing! And so quick!

Ha ha yes. The movie is good too if you want to watch some Bollywood.

Hahaha, good ol' POD. I hadn't seen that video, but as a big fan of table tennis that's pretty awesome. ;)

I have been feeling that BOOM since the song was out haha always in my mind whenever I'm about to fall 😂

When I see this photo of a seagull that I photographed in Bateman's Bay, NSW, Australia I am reminded of one of my favorite Disney songs "Now I see the light":

I'm a BIG fan of Disney movies! Although seagulls reminds me the Pixar movie Nemo 🐠😂

-V

Ha. Those seagulls are funny

this is kinda special because the original song is really cheerful but lyrics are really not. when ever i heard it i was boring with the speech how this should be blues. well it is not really blues but.

and photos inspired by this:

I recently attended the Holi Colour Festival and this song was played later in the afternoon once we were dancing in a coloured cloud. These guys (not people who I was with) were lots of fun, they often included everyone into their dances... but this is them... dancing and jumping around in a circular shape with their hands in the air having an absolute blast! They were the life of the party!

IMG_8455aa.jpg

That song made us travel back in time! When parties were good haha

Hahaaa, I wouldn't usually pick a song like this for these games, but because of the song you went with I knew I was all good! : ) Similar kind of era... I was thinking of using all photos taken from this event for the other photo stars too, it would have been a lot of fun, a lot of old school stuff but I don't think it would suit most people so I didn't. Glad it brought back memories for you guys! : ) If you go to the right kind of party, this song still goes off! ; ) lol

Congratulations! You got 6 points for bringing us back to those good moments when we use to go to 3 days long parties haha

Hahahaaa, that's awesome, I love that I was able to bring that connection back to the music for you. Music is so like that isn't it!! But lets move away from that now since I had an emotional day with music yesterday... so thank you!!! :D

This song always goes through my head when I'm goofing around. Haha.

Congratulations! You got 2 points because we all have had those moments when you dont even know why everyone is looking at you the day after a party and you realize it's the moment to play this song hahaha

So i got a little carried away and did a whole post.

One Song for a Theme of pictures

So i'm headed back to Bolivia in October and needed to do a blog post anyway. And yep you guessed it here's the music that I was listening to as I put together the blog post. Really does put you in the right frame of mind to work on the pictures and the blog.

This is what I think of when I think of Bolivian Music and Bolivia

Congratulations! You got 4 points not just because of this image but the whole post matches just perfect with the song you picked

Let me play with this atmospheric drum'n'bass by Etherwood. I was into drum'n'bass since 1995 when I saw on TV one of Photek's tracks. Etherwood is one of my last findings in this genre. And this track matches pretty fine with my landscapes.

Serpentine_DSC4838-HDR-Edit_resize.jpg

Congratulations! You got 5 points, we like electronic music a lot and D&B combines perfect with pretty much all of your landscape shots

Woohoo! Thanks a lot!

This is a Dutch band which I love. What they do: they write Lyrics, but emphasize sounds more than content! So although you will recognize words and sentences they basically create them because they sound good :-)

They do it more extreme on their later albums, but the above fact in combination with the sort of happy and intense feeling I get is a total match with some of my 'train window shots' like this one:

The 'content' of the shot is not perfect, it's even a bit blurry, but it looks nice and that for me is more important than if everything in a shot is 'perfect'. This is how Blaudzun, the band, influences my more or less 'imperfect' (purposely) photography series.
