Here's a pretty cool one I got a while back in Antelope Canyon which is near Page in Arizona. In order to get this effect, sand was thrown up into the light, but it's still pretty neat in my opinion once you realize that, heh. Also the colors aren't nearly that red in person, but when you take a low exposure it really brings out a lot of the color that our eyes don't really pick up.
This was taken on a 35mm rebel, can't remember the exact settings, but if you google how to film in slot canyons I'm sure you'll find it. Hope you enjoy!

I appreciate that tip about lower exposures and a potential way to saturate images prior to editing. I am trying to study a bit more about photography before jumping into buying a DSLR, but I am going to start playing with the manual shooting mode on my phone to start getting real experience. Thats my best learning style, anyway.

I particularly enjoy the texture created by the striations in the stone; it tells that story of the rushing water that carved such a cool structure. Alright Arizona, I'm taking notice! :)

Word. I think part of the trick back then was fast film as well, this was before the days of digital so I'm not quite sure how it would turn out with digital.. I suggest doing a google search since I've never been there with a digital camera but I assume you would basically just mirror the same sort of settings on digital as on regular film.

And that's cool you're getting into photography! You can do a lot with a phone these days. Heh.

Also thanks for the positive feedback on the image, glad you liked it! :) Arizona is indeed a beautiful place! Especially the waterfalls in Havasupai! And Sedona as well. And other places.

i keep noticing you doing full power up? is there been a reason for this? are you doing any of the SBD market exchange stuff since the price spike.? great shot my friend of course brilliant light and color

Do you mean the power up in regards to my voting power? Cause I had been powering up my account in general for most of the entire time posting here until recently when I was going to take 50 steem out to do a contest/challenge and then realized I had more than that in my savings which only takes 3 days to get so I just cancelled the power down and started powering up again.

In regards to me powering up my voting power I recently started doing that because a friend of mine on here told me I was voting too much... And he sent me this link.. https://steemworld.org/@apolymask

Which shows your voting power and some other neat stuff and I never even really understood all of that until just recently, lol.. I didn't know I could power up my vote so much and thought I basically got a certain amount a day.. Anyways.. The reason I'm powering up my voting power now is because I'm going to do a contest/challenge soon and I want to be able to put it into that as much as I can to reward the people who participate.

And no I'm not doing any other market exchange stuff right now, I did the 60 sbd to steem a while back and then before the price changed a lot I did another 10 sbd and maybe like 20 or 30 steem or something like that.. But now.. I'm just holding everything. May take a lil out at some point to get the drone.

And yourself?

Also thanks for the nice comment about the photography picture!
