My second photography post.

As I was looking through my images.. This one stuck out to me for some reason.. Sometimes I get a lil close to the edge. I like to overcome some fears to certain extents.  Not all fears, mostly ones I consider irrational or as not conflicting with my moral system. I even picked up a couple snakes out in the wild recently to overcome the fear, though I felt kinda bad for disturbing them.. More and more I try to do things I used to be scared of as long as it doesn't unfairly harm others, I think that's pretty healthy in general to try to do.  Anyways..

This particular image.. Has a story behind it and I'll tell you more if you ask, but I was pretty depressed on that day.. Just felt like being somewhere high and looking around. And now.. Looking back.. it's a very meaningful picture to me.

PS this is a self portrait. I set the video camera up on a tripod and hiked over there and then pulled a single frame off it.

Second of many, I hope.

Indeed! I've got a pretty good collection. :) Looking forward to sharing more with you all!

Great photo and I'm interested in your story!

Thanks!

The story is.. A depressing one. I'll try to summarize it and not make it too long.
Basically... A woman I fell in love with broke my trust with another guy and was like.. Ignoring me and not responding to my messages or voice mail or calls or anything.. And.. I was in a really dark state of mind.. I wasn't suicidal.. But.. I felt like death.. And I guess, a part of me hoped she'd see the picture and be concerned about my safety. Though.. I really just enjoy being up in the mountains when I'm sad.. Cause I can kinda look back on the difficult path it took me to get up there.

It's usually not easy hiking a mountain, kind of like life.. But when you get to the top.. And look back.. You can appreciate the journey in a much more expanded kind of way.

And.. I fell in love once with another since her, and that didn't work either but.. I am still looking, I'm just not too worried about it anymore.. It was a good climb even though it hurt really bad at times.. And maybe I'll find someone else in the future to climb with again. :)

Eventually you'll find the right one and it will makes sense that the first few relationships had to fail so the right one can succeed!

I found the right one once. She was the first woman I fell for. I hope I can meet someone like her again some day. :) Thanks for the encouragement.

Interesting photo -desert areas have a nice feel to me; I like the color bands in the rocks. Story please.

Thanks. :) Yeah.. I love the desert, just gets a lil hot at times in the summer! Lol.. But summer nights are amazing and the colder seasons are too. I feel lucky to live here.

I hope you don't mind me copy pasting the story from that I just typed up from the other person who asked first up above and just sharing that with you as well as opposed to typing up a whole new one? Here's the story if you don't mind such.

What a beautiful place to sit and not think about anything in particular. Where was this taken?

Indeed! It was a great spot for that. :) And to answer your question, this was taken in Sedona Arizona. One of the most beautiful places in the world in my opinion.
