Wishing for Kayak Season

Spring is around the corner and I find myself day dreaming about paddling. This shot was taken near Tobermorey, ON. It's Lake Scugog which is not to be confused with Lake Scugog outside of Port Perry, ON. LOL This one was much smaller but a nice paddle.

That's my old girl's nose. She used to be bright red. quick note: if you buy an inflatable kayak take the time to spray a good uv protectant. I did not. This inflatable kayak was purchased 11 years ago. I have only had to patch, a very small patch, once. It's a Stern's and it wasn't cheap but it doesn't owe me one red cent!

I love this kayak. There is a newer model but I think I'll stick with her. We've been places together. Algonquin comes to mind...and Peche Island.

The best part about owning a good, inflatable kayak is portability! It folds up into the size of a large suitcase with enough room for my pump and my safety kit in the bag. When I want to go some where I go! My gear is compact and I can go with anyone, any where, any time! No racks, dollies or special equipment needed!

And...I'm told it's quite entertaining watching me walk to the water with my "Canadian Sombrero" on my head.

In case you can't tell, I'm a little obsessed with paddling.

This photo was shot with my trusty little Nikon Cool Pix point and shoot.
