before it became my new home almost 12 years ago.
I am feeling so blessed to have an opportunity
to develop my deep connection with this land,
that is so diverse and nourishing in many ways!
This is not just the land, but also this vast sky! and the Sun!
While in other parts of the world people get excited to have a sunny day,
we get very excited about cloudy days and the rain!
And we get the most spectacular Sunsets,
especially during monsoon time during the Summer.
When water is flowing through the desert,
creating streams and waterfalls,
it IS Heaven on Earth!
We have also many great lakes,
boating and kayaking are here very popular.
My favorite so far is Apache Lake,
we would call it our second home.
I am in deep love with saguaros!
They are the ultimate teachers,
they not only survive but thrive,
and they produce the most delicious fruit,
nourishing all desert creatures.
With time I am harvesting more and more,
moving from saguaro fruit season,
into prickly pear and wolfberry season.
I can harvest all this fruit around my house.
And there is so much more!
I am in love with all the desert creatures too!=)
This land teaches you how to be more aware.
You really have to watch your step!
I almost stepped on this guy!
Overall they are super potent allies,
teaching you of how to shed your skin,
and transform venom into the medicine.
I am a strong believer that one of our main jobs
is to work with the spirit of the land,
wherever we are,
being in service for the Earth.
Photography is a great tool
to share with the beauty of nature,
for communing with it.
It is also a great way
to expand our awareness,
sharpening our eye into seeing,
and refining our focus.

Great photos, very inspiring. That sunset is something else! Rattlers seem to be wide spread: we had lots on the Prairies in Canada. One time there was one holed up under the switch of the shop track at the railyards where I worked. Lucky there was another way to get onto the shop. But rattlers are nice, they usually warn you.

yes indeed, snakes can be truly amazing teachers, I appreciate deeply their medicine,
I feel like they are one of my main animal spirit allies.
also encounters with them often can put us so on the edge, making us so much more alive and aware, grateful for being alive;)
