I live in a small coastal town on the West Coast of Canada. It used to be a fishing village, but today it is a beautiful modern sea-side town.
White Rock is on the border to the USA and the ocean has a brilliant blue colour. Hundreds of visitors to Vancouver come to our town. It is about an hour from downtown Vancouver and most of the travelers come in the summer.
I love to go down to the beach for photography. I have hundreds of sunset photos. The beach is empty in the winter and only locals go for a walk to see how the sun slowly leaves for the day.
We have a long pier from the centre of the main street, which stretched out into the ocean. This is a popular place for lovers to go for a walk and we also always sit here to watch fireworks on Canada Day.
I take so many photos of sea birds at the beach. This area is still very natural and we hope to keep it this way. The water is crystal clear and clean. I love to take actions photos of seagulls.
In the evenings, there are always local fishermen who stand in the water for hours. Most of them wear wet-suits because the ocean water is ice cold. They catch so much fish and crabs. They also make beautiful subjects for photography.

This is the view from White Rock towards the USA, when the sun sets over the pier and the gently water of the ocean becomes a midnight-blue.
