The hot days are over, it seems. So, in future I'll probably venture out a lot more again. The last 2 weeks, though, were too hot for my taste & I didn't feel like doing anything.Die heißen Tage sind vorbei, wie's scheint. Also werde ich in Zukunft wohl wieder ein bißchen häufiger unterwegs sein. Die letzten 2 Wochen waren mir etwas zu heiß & fühlte mich dementsprechend demotiviert.

Friday, I was in the mood for biking again, so I went out looking for birds, but was not very successful. Smaller birds here in Patras seem to be very cautious. Only got this one:Am Freitag hatte ich jedoch wieder mal Lust, zu radeln, & machte mich auf die Suche nach Vögeln, nur leider ohne großen Erfolg. Die kleineren Vögel hier sind zu vorsichtig. Mir kam nur dieser vor die Linse:

This could be a Eurasian wren & in the background a flock of sparrows is flying by. Since there were no other birds to be seen, only heard, I turned my attention to some thistle-like plant in front of me.Könnte ein Zaunkönig sein. Im Hintergrund fliegt ein Spatzenschwarm vorbei. Da man ansonsten keine Vögel sah, nur hörte, wandte ich mich einer distelartigen Pflanze zu.

Looks nice, but it's much more interesting when closing in with a proper macro.Sieht nett aus, wird aber erst richtig interessant mit einem vernünftigen Makro.

Quite some almost microscopic activity in that flower. But on a neighbouring flower there was a more interesting guest:Einiges an fast mikroskopischer Aktivität in der Blüte. Auf einer Nachbarblüte saß aber ein interessanterer Gast:

A crab spider. This one was so small, I wasn't sure whether it actually was one or whether it was some piece that had fallen off of another plant. Only at home when I saw the photos on the computer, it became clear.Eine Krabbenspinne. Diese war so klein, daß ich mir nicht sicher war, ob es wirklich eine war oder nicht doch nur ein herabgefallenes Stück einer anderen Pflanze. Erst als ich sie zuhause am Computer sah, war ich mir sicher.

Have no idea what plant that is. The ant was very interested in these seed pods (?), although it only seemed to be checking them. It didn't eat anything.Keine Ahnung, was für eine Pflanze das ist. Die Ameise schien sehr an den Fruchtständen interessiert, fraß aber anscheinend nichts.

There were clouds again! But they stayed behind the mountains, so no rain for Patras. I think, it's more than 2 months without rain now. Almost all streams have run dry by now. Yesterday, there were some more clouds, but still no rain:Man sah auch mal wieder Wolken! Leider blieben sie aber hinter den Bergen, kein Regen für Patras. Mehr als 2 Monate hat's hier nicht geregnet. Fast alle Bäche liegen trocken. Gestern gab's zwar mehr Wolken, aber immer noch keinen Regen.

During the economic crisis, some people must have run out of money very suddenly. Found this house, which was almost finished when it was given up:Während der Wirtschaftskrise muß manchen Leuten das Geld sehr plötzlich ausgegangen sein. Fand dieses Haus, das fast fertig war, als es aufgegeben wurde:

Maybe it was not given up completely. The doors were open & it almost looked like someone was living there, perhaps a squatter.Vielleicht wurde es auch nicht komplett aufgegeben. Die Türen waren offen & es sah fast aus, als ob jemand dort lebte, vielleicht ein Hausbesetzer.

After I removed some ticks which forced themselves upon me in the house's garden, I went to the coast because the sun was already setting.Nachdem ich einige Zecken entfernt hatte, die sich mir im Garten des Hauses aufgedrängt hatten, fuhr ich zur Küste, da die Sonne schon unterging.

Well, the clouds were not only hiding behind the mountains, there were also some out at sea. Only over Patras, there were none.Die Wolken versteckten sich nicht nur hinter den Bergen, es gab auch welche auf hoher See. Nur über Patras gab es keine.

Far out, near the horizon, there were also some clouds which gave some nice effects around the sinking sun.Weit draußen, am Horizont, waren auch einige Wolken, die dem Sonnenlicht eine interessante Struktur gaben.

The summer's coming to an end & the crabs are becoming more active, it seems. This time I saw a lot, but it was already too dark to get good pictures. Only a few were close enough for my flash to provide enough light.Der Sommer geht zu Ende & die Krabben werden aktiver, wie es scheint. Diesmal sah ich recht viele, aber es war schon zu dunkel für gute Fotos. Nur wenige waren nah genug für meinen Blitz.

That was it already pretty much for that day. But after the sun was gone, the clouds lit up again rather pinkishly.Das war es dann auch schon fast für diesen Tag. Allerdings leuchteten die Wolken noch mal ziemlich rosa auf, nachdem die Sonne schon weg war.

There were also some nice rays reaching out from behind the horizon. Sadly they were too faint for my camera. There is a slight hint of them in the photo, but not more:Einige Strahlen reichten von hinter dem Horizont weit in den Himmel hinein. Leider waren sie für meine Kamera wohl zu schwach. Man kann sie auf dem Foto nur erahnen:
