Eucalyptus Trees found when Cycling the Australian wayside #1steemCreated with Sketch.

Outback Australia has offered me thousands of eucalyptus trees to feature in my photos from my bicycle rides across Australia - here are a few that did not make the final picks for the Steemit Photo Challenge

Outback Australia is characterised by red dirt - these photos come from the Pilbara region = iron ore country. Somehow the eucalyptus trees can thrive in dry and hot conditions with water only delivered for the 3 or 4 months of the Wet season.

We caught the tail end of a late season cyclone - so many of the creeks had water and there was even some flooding. Made for many great reflection photos.

The South Western corner of Western Australia is heavily wooded with magnificent karri and jarrah (types of eucalyptus) forests. This provides a great backdrop for cycling.

Wow, seems like a beautiful area to visit! Thanks for sharing :-)

It is an amazing country - that is why I keep riding my bicycle across it. 7 times now

I wasn't cycling but this picture was taken in Western Victoria. It's known as a River Red Gum. Looking at it now I'm not sure that my camera did it justice - they're quite coppery and bright and shiny in real life...

Cameras cannot capture the greatness of the trees - try to get the whole tree you lose the colours
