Fall Fungi
Here are some of my favorite shots from yesterday's walk. There were some interesting finds along the way I had to share. I always try to capture the essence of a mushroom's profile. Each cap has it's own character that I like to try and display as best I can. Here are some of my favorite captures of yesterday's beauty that I hope you enjoy!
I had to start with the Mushroom Buns. The look of Hamburger Bun here is uncanny and quite pleasing to mine own eyes! When I see Mushroom caps that look like these first two images.... I always crave a Hamburger!
These caps look like they are sliding off of one another! I can imagine what a time lapse of these three shrooms growing up together would have looked like. When I was taking the photos I couldn't help but to think of a family of three. I know that isn't how it works with Fungi... but It's hard to not see. Imagine for a moment if you will.... the acorn in the image above is the photographer... and the family portrait it takes is the image below.
The image above reminds me of the classic Turtle Shell shaped cap... and the following two images remind me of the classic Umbrella shaped caps! The textures are amazing to behold!
These caps have an awesome wavy profile revealing the fluted undersides. This design of mushroom has always appealed to me greatly. There is a fluidity and an appearance of motion that the wavy caps embody. If you imagine a time lapse of these mushrooms.... you can almost see how they have unfurled into all this splendor you see before you now!
(DO NOT EAT UNIDENTIFIED WILD MUSHROOMS)
These next three images are not the same Mushroom but the appear to look like the same type. I arranged these as they would be ordered in their development as far as the caps are concerned. I refer to these types of caps as Bottle Caps simply from their appearance. I love their textures and shapes. The leaf in the first image reminds me of leopard print and the third image in this series is my favorite for many reasons!
These last images I thought were pretty cool of some very young mushrooms! When the light catches them just right, the white mushrooms in particular, look quite translucent as they sprout up. I will work harder on trying to capture that quality in particular.
I truly hope you enjoyed some of these captures! I always enjoy sharing the beauty.... Sharing IS Caring! I just got back from another walk today.... and have more photos to share! Whilst you wait or if you liked these... I made a post yesterday you can check out here called Silver Cord. It has some pretty incredible shots of a spider web inside the rotting heart of a dying stump. Well worth a peek!
Thanks for spending some time here! I am going to go get today's images ready for some future posts. I still have a few gems to share from yesterday and a few walks ago. I am just unsure if you can spam your own feed or not! hahahaha
