Making trips out of the city and into the outdoors is always extremely refreshing. Not only is the scenery better, but there is a calming sense of peace in the air that can't be achieved while stuck in traffic. A well needed reset for the mind.
Once every few months, my girlfriend and I are able to escape the chaotic life at home and spend a few days with her family on their farm. The sense of instant stress relief I feel is unmatched by any park I can go to or hike I can take while in the vicinity of Springfield. It's like my mind can just tell that the distance is there and I'm immediately able to relax, without worrying about work, or chores, or any other task I associate with being home.
Between the horses, the large pond in their back yard, and just the overall great view all around, I always feel a major sense of relief after spending a few days here. Below are a few more of the photos I captured during my stay.
