Drinking in the Woods

It's probably been a favorite pastime for many centuries. Well, for at least as long as there's been woods and bottled alcohol, which is a pretty long time.

I think I'm fairly safe in assuming that there have been woods as least as long as there have been people on Planet Earth. And after a quick check of Wikipedia, I see that bottled alcohol is not a particularly new invention either.

I've done quite a few Steemit posts with the basic theme of "junk found in the woods" and I've also received a number of comments about finding old bottles while hiking in the woods.

So, here you go, YASPAJITW (Yet Another Steemit Post About Junk In The Woods).

I stumbled upon this motherlode of junk in an area of the Manasquan Reservoir that was off the sanctioned trails, but not far from (and parallel to) a street with some relatively old houses on it.

And I'm guessing that some of those bottles could tell some pretty wild stories about drinking in the woods!

These photos were captured on the same afternoon hike at the Manasquan Reservoir as these two Steemit posts:

very original post, I love it.

somehow you made this look beautiful!

Yup nothing like getting drunk at the ol' flower shop. Actually, I don't know too much about it, but this gentleman might....

It would be interesting if any of the bottles had identifying labels or marks so you could tell their age. It would be neat if some of them had been a long time and were vintage. Looks like an interesting find.
