Today I will write a few words about the normal jobs in a dry dock for passenger vessels.
In the life of each type of vessel comes a time when it must be taken to the doctor ...and in our case we take it to dry dock.
In dry dock many different jobs are being carried out such as:
- tank jobs (checking and entering in enclosed spaces)
- pipe fixing and/or replacing
- replacing old equipment
- fixing anything that is broken
Even if the vessel is in dry dock drills are still mandatory such as general drills when you lower the boat, because many new people come on board.
Here you can see the chaos of many people gathering for a general drill. All the people in this photo are crew for repairs from sailors, riding crew to project people and tank teams and of course electricians .
All these people are good in one specific job that is necessary in this dry dock. The work is hard and ...almost all the time the pay is low but I started to respect many of them...because all the jobs are dangerous in this environment .
